The Work and Gain Education & Employment Skills (WAGEES) project is a new community re-entry program created by the Colorado General Assembly as part of House Bill 14-1355 and expanded through Senate Bill 15- 124. The grant program is intended to be a mechanism to facilitate and support a strong partnership between the Colorado Department of Corrections and faith and community based organizations (FCBOs). Positive Impact Colorado, a program of the NAACP CO MT WY State Conference, Christ Temple Community Church and a coalition of other faith and community based programs, has been approved for funding to develop the WAGEES project in El Paso County. The statewide project, which includes 9 sub-grantees, is administered by the Latino Coalition for Community Leadership. LCCL operates as a national intermediary to give voice, leadership and resources to nonprofits in marginalized communities meeting the needs of individuals and families.
